CHARLOTTETOWN -- The Mark's Work Wearhouse Island Junior Hockey League recently presented its league awards for the 2009-2010 season. The banquet was held at Piazza Joe's restaurant in Charlottetown.

Kensington Vipers forward Cameron Webster had a stellar night at the banquet, bringing home three individual awards, including most goals, most points, and league MVP, in addition to a selection on the first all-star team.

Montague takes game one of miniseries

Montague PE - The Down East Maniacs defeated the Charlottetown Metro Builders 6-3 in the opening game of 2009/ 2010 Mark's Work Wearhouse Island Junior Hockey Playoffs played in Montague Friday night.

Scoring for the Maniacs were Jordan Hughes (3-1), Josh MacDonald (1-2), Tyler Clair (1-2), and Ben Sherren (1-1). Other assists were credited to Colby Bruce (2), Brad MacDonald, and Ben Brammer.

Scoring for Charlottetown were Denton Gorill (2) and Josh Toombs (1-1). Other assists went to Willie Whalen (3), Mike Crosby, and Alex Abbott.

Travis Willis recorded the win, making 30 saves. Jeremy McKinnon suffered the loss, making 28 saves, before being replaced late in the second period by Chris Chandler.
