October 18th/2006 2-0 Vipers Off to Quick Start After 5-3 Win Sherwood- The Kensington Vipers received goals from five different players in handing the Sherwood Falcons their second loss of the season in as many meetings between the two clubs. The Vipers grabbed a 2-0 advantage after the first period on goals by Mark Paynter and Dan O'Shea. The lead was extended to extended to three when Matt Weeks scored early in the second period for K'town. Brad Dunn narrowed the deficit with a powerplay goal only to see Evan MacDonald reply to restore the three goal lead. Dunn again bulged the twine for the Falcons, cutting the Vipers lead to 4-2 entering the final frame. Robbie Chandler scored on a quick shot as the puck caromed off the end boards with only three and a half minutes remaining in the game. However, Brodie Sanderson iced the game with an empty net goal in the final minute. Luke Rowledge once again picked up the win, turning aside 19 of 22 shots while Chris Dalziel suffered the defeat, making 24 saves on the night. |
