The site has been designed to provide information on such things as the history of the Don Johnson Cup, the host hotel, links to the CARI Complex and the City of Charlottetown. The Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcons are excited about hosting this year’s edition of the Don Johnson Cup. We have an excellent organizing committee working very hard to ensure all players and fans enjoy a memorable week in Charlottetown.

The Island Junior Hockey League began in 1991-92 with 4 franchises based out of Sherwood-Parkdale, O’leary, Summerside and Montague. The Sherwood-Parkdale Falcons were the winners of the first two IJHL championship ever awarded in 1992 and 1993.

The current management group purchased the team in 1999 and have experienced a great deal of success ever since. Their first move as team owners was to bring in A&S Scrap Metal as the team sponsor, a relationship that still holds strong today. In their 8 years of management, the Falcons have been in the IJHL final six times, winning 3 Island Championships (2001, 2003 and 2006) and have had the opportunity to represent P.E.I. at four Don Johnson Cups (2001 Windsor, 2002 O’Leary, 2003 St John’s and 2006 Kensington).

The Falcon are a very proud franchise which is reflected in their active alumni community. Former Falcons can be found on the coaching staff, in the volunteer ranks and in the stands cheering the Falcons on game after game. The team also organizes an annual alumni game which pits past players against the current team as a fund raiser for the program.

Please support our sponsors, as many have faithfully supported us since 1999. With the high cost of operating a Junior Hockey Club and staging special events such as the Don Johnson Cup, the support of our business community is essential. With so much pressure on businesses to contribute to so many worthy causes, we are most grateful for their continued support.
