T
he Kings County Mike's Boathaulers jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two periods of play and went on to down host Pownal 4-2. Graham Chisolm scored late in the first period to give Kings County a 1-0 lead after one, while second period goals by Matthew Cuddy and Chris Bruce extended the lead to three goals. Pownal battled back with a pair of powerplay goals within a two minute span from affiliate player Ryan Callaghan and Brett MacDonald  to close the gap. However, Kings County sealed the win when Kyle Chiasson scored into the empty net with 45 seconds remaining. Adam Hergert picked up the win for Kings County, making 17 saves, while Chad MacGuigan faced 34 shots in the loss.

Falcons take hard fought 5-3 win over South Shore
Cody Banks Arena played host to an entertaining game Wednesday evening. The host Falcons pulled ahead by two goals in the first period. Robbie Chandler's first of the season and a powerplay marker by Darcy Murnaghan, his first of two gaols on the night, seemed to have the Falcons in control. However, affiliate player Dustan Jones scored with under one minute remaining to narrow the gap. The second period played out much like the opening period, as the Falcons once again scored the first two goals, rookie Coady MacDonald and Murnaghan's second, to put the home team up 4-1. Yet again the Red Wings scored late, as Ian Postma drew them to within a pair. A Tyler Matthews powerplay goal to start the third period brought the Wings to within one goal, however, Colin MacBeath added the insurance marker late in the period for a 5-3 Sherwood win. Jamie Hogan picked up his first win of the season in the Falcon's net while Alex Robertson suffered the loss.
