Gorrill Leads Builders over Wings

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE—The acquisition of Dention Gorrill is proving to be a good one for the Charlottetown Metro Builders. One night after recording four points against his former team, the Sherwood Falcons, Gorrill came through with a pair of goals, including the game winner, to lead the Builders to victory Thursday evening. The team edged out a 5-4 win over the Western Red Wings in Marks Work Wearhouse Island Junior Hockey League results.

Also scoring for Charlottetown were Nick Cheverie (1-2), Stephen Cassidy (1-2), and Carson Butler. Derek MacDonald (2), Shawn Hughes, Alex Abbott, Jeremy MacKinnon, and Josh Toombs assisted. Jeremy MacKinnon made 42 saves for the goaltending victory.

Johnny Doull, Jackie-Ray Bernard, TJ Campbell, and Alex McInnis scored for the Red Wings. Assisting were Darcy LaPierre (2), Kris MacEwen (2), Kris Read, and Kyle MacDonald. Cody Saunders faced 48 shots in suffering the goaltending loss.

The Builders lead 2-1 following the first period, and the teams were tied at four before Gorrill broke the tie at 11:45 of the third period.
