Montague PE - The Down East Maniacs defeated the Charlottetown Metro Builders 6-3 in the opening game of 2009/ 2010 Mark's Work Wearhouse Island Junior Hockey Playoffs played in Montague Friday night. Scoring for the Maniacs were Jordan Hughes (3-1), Josh MacDonald (1-2), Tyler Clair (1-2), and Ben Sherren (1-1). Other assists were credited to Colby Bruce (2), Brad MacDonald, and Ben Brammer. Scoring for Charlottetown were Denton Gorill (2) and Josh Toombs (1-1). Other assists went to Willie Whalen (3), Mike Crosby, and Alex Abbott. Travis Willis recorded the win, making 30 saves. Jeremy McKinnon suffered the loss, making 28 saves, before being replaced late in the second period by Chris Chandler.
