Vipers Edge Wings in Close Game

O'LEARY, PE-- The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers narrowly edged the Western Red Wings, 5-4 in a shootout in Marks Work Wearhouse Island Junior Hockey League action played Saturday evening in O'Leary. The tight-checking affair was a battle between two arch rivals top the league standings.

Cameron Webster scored three times in the win for the Vipers, while Colin Webster also scored and Nick Reilly scored the shootout winner in addition to two assists. Also assisting were Allan Clow, and Mark Paynter. Logan Reid stopped 25 of 29 shots in earning the goaltending win.

TJ Campbell (2-1), Kendall Hackett (1-2), and Alex Noonan scored for the Wings in the game. Pat LeFrank recoreded a lone assists, while Alex Robertson suffered the loss in goal stopping 38 of 42 shots.

The feisty affair saw referee Steve Dyer assess a total of six fighting majors to each team.
