Vipers host Falcons

The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers will host the Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcons this Saturday afternoon at Community Gardens in Kensington. The Mark's Work Wearhouse IJHL matinée gets underway at 2:00 p.m.

The Vipers come in on a five-game winning streak and will look to extend that with a win over the improved Falcons. The third-place Falcons recently upgraded their club with the signing of former Summerside Western Capitals' defenceman Dan Whelan. They have also signed Craig Cameron.

The Vipers have been hit with the injury bug hard lately, losing Scott Bernard, Mark Paynter, and Jeremy Jollimore to injuries. Forward Thomas McSweeney will be sitting out the second game of his two-game suspension on Saturday.

Vipers forward Cameron Webster has moved within three points of the Vipers' all-time scoring record, currenly held by Kirk MacPhee. Webster broke the Vipers goal-scoring record earlier in the season.

Minor Hockey teams are also reminded that Saturday is Xtreme Minor Hockey Day and that means that each minor hockey player attending with his or her team will have a chance to win a free hockey school at Xtreme hockey this summer.
