SHERWOOD, PE—The Sherwood A & S Scrap Metal Falcons defeated the Montague Down East Maniacs by a score of 5-1 in Marks Island Junior Hockey League action played Wednesday evening at the Cody Banks Arena in Sherwood. Scoring for the Falcons were Kyle Reardon (1-1), Craig Cameron (1-1), Alex Smith, Brett MacDonald, and Denton Gorrill. Assisting were Tyler Simpson (2), Daniel Whelan, Brodie MacDonald, Mark Walker, and Dan Roberts. Ben Jones earned the goaltending win, stopping 33 of 34 shots. Tyler Gallant, assisted by Adam Fitzpatrick, and Josh MacDonald scored the lone goal for Montague. Starting in goal was Nelson MacAulay, who surrendered five first-period goals on 19 shots before being replaced by Travis Willis. Willis was solid over the final two periods, stopping all 12 shots he faced.
