Wings top Maniacs in High Scoring Affair

TYNE VALLEY, PE—Two teams combined for 13 goals in Marks Work Wearhouse Island Junior Hockey League action played Sunday evening in Tyne Valley. In the game, the Western Red Wings defeated the Montague Down East Maniacs by a score of 8-5.

Scoring for the Red Wings were TJ Campbell (3), Johnny Doull (2-1), Pat LeFrank (2), Matt Arsenault (1-2). Assisting were Kris MacEwen (2), Jackie-Ray Bernard (2), Alex Noonan (2), and Kris Read. Cody Saunders allowed five goals on 28 shots in recording the victory.

Tyler Clair (2-1), Colby Bruce (1-2), Justin Hancock, and Tyler Gallant scored for the Maniacs. Jordan Hughes (2), Ben Brammer (2), and Matt Morrison assisted. Shawn Lorenteau was bombarded with 46 shots in the game, allowing eight goals.

The Maniacs held a 1-0 lead after the first period, however the Red Wings scored four second period goals to take a 4-2 lead after forty minutes.
